The Metropolitan Area Credit Union Management Association (MACUMA) recently contributed to the Capital Area Food Bank. The Capital Area Food Bank leads the region’s efforts to provide good, healthy food to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Every year the Capital Area Food Bank sources and distributes more than 45 million meals in the area.
“MACUMA recognizes the great work done by the Capital Area Food Bank and two of our Board members, Lynette Smith and Stephen Harrell were instrumental in bringing their work to our attention”, said MACUMA Chairman Don DiMatteo. “We were happy to provide a contribution that will go toward assisting those in time of need, as this pandemic has created a need for more and more help.”
“As one of the longest serving credit union trade groups in the country, MACUMA takes seriously its role to lead and support those in need. During the upcoming year, MACUMA hopes to be able to generate even more revenue enabling us to provide additional resources,” DiMatteo stated.
MACUMA represents credit unions throughout the Maryland, DC, and Virginia area. Since its founding in 1958 and provides its members with training, educational and networking opportunities.
